Stand Out From The Competition

How Well Does Your Business Fit into its Market?

Many people go into business thinking they would like a share of an industry that is doing well. All they have to do to set them apart is to lower and advertise the prices on their versions of the products and services, right? Wrong.

If you are planning to create a business based off an industry that provides products and/or services that are in demand, you must set yourself apart by thinking “long term.” Think about how you would like your business to be viewed 5-10 years down the road. What made it so special to be around 5-10 years from now?

You must establish a marketing plan that sets your business apart from your competition. Your pricing is just a small part of the package. People want to know why your business’ products and services are better than your competition’s.

Visualize How Your Company should be Perceived

    1. Why are your products and services better than others? Most of the time, it is great customer service that keeps customers coming back.
    2. Does your business offer products and services with a guarantee or warranty? People often would rather pay a bit more for a product or service if they know there is a warrantee.
    3. Include “great customer service” types wording in your advertising. People want to know that you put your customers first.
    4. Brand your business as being professional, fair, knowledgeable, and competitive in pricing. Most people understand they “get what they pay for.”

Important Points to Remember to Set Your Business Apart from the Competition:

      • Create a marketing strategy for the long term.
      • Highlight great customer service.
      • Brand your business to stand out from the competition.
      • Offer warranties and guarantees for products and services.
      • Establish a real relationship with your customers around “great service,” “friendly,” “knowledgeable,” and “fair.”
