Creating Business Cards That Make a Lasting Impression
Business cards are the cheapest and most under-used marketing tool in business. If you are not making them work for you, you may be missing an excellent opportunity.
Don’t Delay Get Your Business Cards Made Today
You should have your cards wherever you go. There is no reason to ever leave home without them.
Every opportunity is a marketing opportunity. When you talk with someone about your business, you can pull out your card.
When you first get started in your business, do not buy your cards in large quantities. You may change your name, your logo, or the services you offer.
Your obsolete cards will still be valid because your information will be the same, but it is not worth getting a discount to get so many cards when the chances are that you are going to change them.
You might consider printing your own business cards in small quantities on your home computer.
5 Things All Business Cards Need
Every business card should have the following:
- The name of your company and your logo. When you first get started, you may not have a logo. Do not worry about it. When you do get one, you can print new cards.
- Your contact information. This includes your telephone number, your cell number if it is different from your business number, your fax, your email, and your mailing address.
- Your Internet URL. Having a Web site is necessary when you begin your business. Putting your URL, such as www.atouchofbusiness.com, should be on everything you print.
- Your byline. Add a short statement about what you do, such as “Teaching How To Get Started in Business.” You can also add a branding type tagline such as “ Starting A Small Business The Right Way.”
- Add color. People like color. Going beyond black and white will help your card stand out.
Marketing With Business Cards
Now that you have your business cards, here are business card marketing tips and tricks:
- Always hand out two business cards – one for the prospect and one for them to hand out to a colleague.
- Leave your business cards everywhere you go – leave one on the table in a restaurant or post them on community bulletin boards.
- Include business cards with your invoices, or bill payments.
- Tuck one of your business cards inside of library books related to your services.
- Use your business card as a ballot for contests and drawings at events.
Business cards are wonderful advertising tools because you can target when and where you leave them or to which individuals you hand them in order to get the greatest advantage.
Of course, there is not a guarantee that leaving them will result in sales.
The idea is to increase awareness of your business so that the recipient will think of you when they need your service.
