Possible Solution - Are You Tracking Your Ad Responses?

For any ad to be effective you must track the results. Else, you won't know if your ad is effective or not, and you'll potentially be wasting a lot of money.

You can track the effectiveness of your ads in a number of ways. For online advertising, you can have the URL in your ad point to a unique page with the same information as the URL for your printed ads.

For example:

You place the exact same ad in one Ezine with the url:

www.atouchofbusiness.com/benefit.html

and...

You place the exact same ad in a different Ezine with the url:

www.atouchofbusiness.com/benifitone.html

The two different URLs are are actually identical pages displaying the same information, but this way you can track which page gets more visits by analyzing your log files. The page with the most visits reveals the better ezine for advertising. You can also test different ads in the SAME Ezines (at different times, of course), using this method.

This is just one example - thousands of others exist. The concept here is to TAG your ads in order to TRACK the responses.

Another method is to put a question mark on the the end of the url and then add a code.

For example www.atouchofbusiness.com?successezine would show up in your log files therefore allowing you to track the results for that particular page.

Offline Tracking:

For offline or print advertising you can also use the above techniques. Or for products/services that are not web related you can use a different phone number or have the person ask for only certain extensions, or mail to certain "departments."

For example:
Acey Gaspard
A Touch of Business.com
Dept#4 4 coronation Ave.
Leamington, Ontario,
N8H 2L1

The Dept#4 would allow me to track the ad where this response came from. You can use an unlimited amount of "departments" for your address, thus track several different ads for the same product using this technique.
