Small Business Thought of The Day - Becoming an International Business

With a business presence on the internet, you are only a click away from any customer in the world. Stand out from the crowd, and your business will quickly expand. Learn to use the internet as a marketing tool, and taking your business international is easy.

The first step is to make your presence known.  List your business in international web directories  and in the yellow pages. Register for as many as you can, and remember to renew your registration when required. International customers can find you through by searching for your business type.

Increase the chances of international customers finding your website by using keywords effectively. Search engine optimization techniques increase your chances of attracting customers by tailoring your content to your target market's interests. Aim for the top spot of the major search engines.

Build your reputation by becoming an expert. Blog about your product or services. Register your blog with the major search engines and include links to your business site. Write articles for trade e-zines, other websites, and newspapers. The more your name is associated with your product or service, the more potential customers will trust you. For an international business, credibility is especially important if you are competing with local companies.

Maintaining your web presence requires constant attention. Update your information regularly to keep your customers coming back. Enticing new content will create buzz about your business. The internet puts the international business market right outside your door; be prepared to answer when your new customers knock.
