Is a Dog Walking Business for you? Find out Here

A dog walking business entails taking dogs for a walk for about an hour or two while the owner is away for some personal or business matter.

There are neither degrees required nor experiences, only a genuine love for dogs and loads of patience.

How to Get into the Dog Walking Business

A decade ago, dog walking businesses have not been fully recognized as a profession.

However, since many people leave their homes for business trips and other matters, dogs are often left at home without sufficient exercise. As such dog walkers are becoming more prominent.

A dog walking business is not confined to dog walking alone. More than usual, as a bonus or just an act of kindness, a dog walker will do these tasks: feed the dog, brush them, or possibly give the dog their medications.

Every dog needs to be walked for about an hour or two since they are active creatures that need exercise and socializing. Fees vary and if you walk more than one dog for any particular owner, then you can charge higher rates.

Skills Needed:
You should be in optimum health yourself when you decide to go into the dog walking business as you will be walking, running, playing and taking care of dogs most the same time.

Experience Needed:
There are no college degrees needed in starting a dog walking business. What is generally required however is a genuine love for dogs and an unlimited fountain of patience. No prior experience in dog walking is needed as anyone who is passionate about dogs can go into the dog walking business.

Startup Requirements:
The dog walking business has very minimal startup costs, good running shoes if you already don't have those and some dog toys are your only purchases.
