FreeWish 1.4 - Winning Features
Below are the features that you can make use of with the FreeWish 1.4.
- FreeWish provides a file manager that looks like Microsoft's Windows Explorer, where you can manage your content for browsing.
- Turn the public front end of your website into an ebook that you can burn on to a CD and give to your friends for browsing offline.
- You can set permissions on files and subfolders and define groups that can access only particular content that you assign.
- FreeWish lets you design your own templates using cascading style sheets (CSS) and choose which content goes on your pages.
- There is no limit on what you can share and no limits on how many or how large your files can be. You can share them online and have thousands of viewers.
FreeWish 1.4 requires that you run Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista. You will need a minimum of 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, and Internet Explorer v6 or later. There is no statement as to whether FreeWish has been tested on browsers other than Internet Explorer.
While FreeWish 1.4 assumes that you are on at least a 256Kbps broadband connection, it does not specify if any security measures are in place to prevent hacking and unauthorized access to files.
The FAQ does not list any possible error messages a user can encounter, and there is no support link on their website at http://www.feasystem.com.
While there are links to submit Feedback and to Report bugs, the interactive element is sorely lacking here.
The installation file is rather hefty compared to others of its kind -- 40mb as compared to Izimi's 3MB.
That said, a few adventurous souls may still want to try out FreeWish 1.4, which is absolutely free, as their website proclaims.
Those who wish to do so may go to the download page to download the 40mb installer there: http://www.feasystem.com/1174285876482.html.
