How to Find Out Why Your Customers Are Not Buying from You

Bill's customers weren't buying from him. He decided to change his product line. So he replaced his product line with a new one. A few weeks went by, and he got the same results. He thought, it must be my prices. They are too high.

He lowered his prices, and he got the same results. He thought he was targeting the wrong people, so he placed ads to reach a different market but still the same results.
Bill started to go around in circles.

He was ready to give up, and then he thought, I'll seek the advice of a professional. He sought out the best person to help him out, and in just a five-minute interview, he had his answer.

The expert told him that there is only way to find out why customers are not buying, and it's not asking an expert. The only way to find out why your customers are not buying from you is to ASK YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Yes, that's the only way. People often try different approaches. They try to figure out what's going on simply on a hunch or a try and see approach. But in reality, it's best to simply ask your customers and find out what's going on. Before you ask your customers, there are a few issues to consider.

Although there are many reasons your customers won't buy from you, the reason usually falls within the boundaries of the following so be aware of these issues before you ask your customers.

They don't trust you

If your prospects don't trust you, they won't buy. No one wants to get cheated. And if there is any doubt, you are going to have a hard time making a sale.

They don't want what you're offering

If you are giving something away for free to someone who doesn't want it, then it's going to be hard to give it away! So how much harder is it if you're trying to sell something to someone who doesn't want what you re offering?

They can't afford it

If they want what you have and want to do business with you, but they don't have any cash or credit card and have no way of paying you, then how can you make the sale?

They can't get the product

They can't get your product even if they want to. If you re in North America and you're selling to a third-world country where they can t get a credit card and/or don't have a place to ship the product, then how can you make any sales? So, with the above in mind and any obvious errors taken care of, you can now find out in which area most of your problems exist simply by asking your customers.
